Correctly format a date from a string in Qlik Sense using MakeDate function

Sometimes you get some data and the dates are just not right. They are stored as text or as a string or in some wierd format that you just don’t know what to do with.

An easy way to make sure the date is coming through correctly in Qlik Sense is to split the string into day, month and year numbers and then use the makedate() function in Qlik Sense.

makedate(YYYY [ , MM [ , DD ] ])

This works particularly well when combined with the subfield() function as described here.. Qlik Sense Subfield function
